An extremely frustrating experience today! I attended this place to collect three Amazon parcels today (Sunday). The man who usually works there, is consistently helpful, patient, and manages collections swiftly and efficiently however, he was not there today. Instead, a woman I had never encountered before was on duty. She informed me that they do not handle Amazon or Post Office services on Sundays, which was perplexing as I have collected parcels on Sundays here many times previously. She then stated she would assist because she recognised the person accompanying me, which I found strange. She could neither speak nor understand English, which rendered communication extremely difficult. She scanned the barcode on my Amazon app and handed me the first parcel, but insisted on scanning the remaining barcodes from my phone rather than the parcels themselves. I explained that typically the barcode from the Amazon app is scanned once and the parcels are processed accordingly, as this is how the usual man who works there does it, but she would not listen. She then declared she could not complete the collection and instructed me to return tomorrow, despite my explanation that I would not be in the area. During this time, another customer entered and promptly left, and she proceeded to blame me for this stating that it's my fault she lost the customer, which I found really unfair. Another customer subsequently arrived to collect an Amazon parcel, which she completed in under a minute. I remained patient and even offered to assist by looking at the device myself, but she refused. When she eventually allowed me to see it, it became clear that she had been trying to process my parcels as a driver return rather than a customer collection. I corrected the process myself in under ten seconds. She did not apologise and, when I asked for her name, she refused to provide it. She also went on to say that customers like me were not wanted there and that, because of the situation today, they would no longer be offering Amazon collections on Sundays. The man who usually attends the counter delivers excellent service; however, this encounter was profoundly disappointing. Staff should be adequately trained both in the use of the device and in the provision of courteous customer service, rather than attributing errors to the customer. I sincerely hope the owner addresses this, to prevent similar experiences for others.
